You are correct, those concrete blocks, called "Sinker" are the weights that hold buoys in place. Some weigh up to 20,000 pounds.

I was at her launching in Marinette, Wisconsin. She was launched sideways into the water because the shipyard where she was built is on a river and is to narrow to launch ships stern first. It was quite a sight to see. I tend not to pay too much attention to opinions based on long-term residents or amenities, or someone in the office not being nice. But if they say they had a lot of trouble getting in or out for one reason or another, or that there are a lot of low branches or something like that, then we will probably give that one a pass.Jessica Rikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09473291972609591971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6192913928006796095.post-71743283962562646592013-07-25T07:06:51.590-05:002013-07-25T07:06:51.590-05:00You win some, you lose some I guess--we've had...You win some, you lose some I guess--we've had the same type experiences. The park we stayed in while working in Texas this past winter gets rave reviews for that area but Mike and I would never stay there again--way too crowded for us. Wonder when they changed their policy? RV Parks review is a great tool but what makes a great park for a lot of folks doesn't mean much to me - pools, and amenities like that. I could care less about them. So it is rather hit or miss.Jim and Sandiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16108729200561576870noreply@blogger.com
