Upper Falls
Water at the bottom
Lower Falls in the distance
Looking East out of the canyon, the day was cloudy overcast.
Walking out to the observation point
The day was rainy and over cast.
I keep working my way thru the crowd for the better view
I finally reach the outer wall and look straight down
The rock cliffs are sheer
I elbow my way to the best viewing spot
The day is still hazy, but much of the haze is mist from the spray of the falls.
The colors would be more dramatic at 9 AM rather than at 4 PM as the sun would have been behind me instead of in front of me. But this was the best I could get on a rainy hazy afternoon.
This is not to be confused with the Grand Canyon in Arizona, this is the Yellowstone river, that empties from Yellowstone lake. Googling Yellowstone
Canyon will get you a lot of information, and I found this picture. Which I thought was really neat.
