To the Lake!

Motorcycle luncheon posts continue to be a poor seller in having blogs acquire hits....  Yesterday's post does not have 100 views yet as I type this...  Folks aren't interested...  But it is what I find entertaining so that is what I report...

If I had driven to the town in a car and reported that I had lunch with 87 people, would that be more interesting?

Today we packed the car and drove to the Lake of the Ozarks....   It was mostly overcast and dreary all day and the temperature never reached 70....  But we didn't have any bad weather either..

We tried something different, stopping in Sedalia, Mo and going to the Bandana's Bar Be Cue there rather than waiting and going to the one here in Osage Beach...  This works out better for us as it makes our large meal earlier in the day....

It is so quiet here during the week before the big holiday weekend.....!  We had one boat come into the cove about sundown, which was the only traffic on the water all evening....  I do think the cool temperatures have a lot to do with that as it is too cold to run the jet skis..

We have a lot of work to do here as nothing has been washed down outside since last fall, so this is a work detail for now...

  1. It's funny - I have absolutely no idea how many people are looking at my blog. I can't remember anything so I can look back at the blog and read about where or what we were doing. The lake was packed with boats and jet skis when we were there on Monday. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like this week-end. They've already put up a sign that says there may be closures and delays due to traffic on the road going to the lake. Just incredible.

  2. Yes we sometimes notice a sudden drop in readers on some days but that really doesn't matter. The main reason we started writing our blog was like a personal diary so we could look back at what we've done, Then we figured the kids would read it when we're away but found out the grandchildren read it more than their parents. Friends and fellow bloggers are all bonus readers so when you have a blog that has low numbers don't worry about it because they might have been too busy to read it and will be back another day. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  3. I enjoy reading about your luncheons, and the ride there and back. But I had a bike for almost 30 years. I do like it when you add a photo of the town. I went to Google to see where Weston, MO was. Didn't you used to put a map in some of your blogs? Weston looks like a real interesting town. That big barn where they sell tobacco. You can tour the town with Google's street view, and feel like you drove through it yourself. Does the railroad still go through there?

  4. I, for one, hope you continue to write about what's interesting to you in your blog regardless of numbers. I try to remember this is just a fun hobby and compared to the rest of my life it's really pretty trivial. Numbers? Fuhgeddaboutit!!

Don't get caught up too much in work this weekend - I think I'd be sitting up on the sundeck watching all the activity on the lake.

  5. I'm with Rick on this one, write about what you want to and folks will either read it or not. WE are always interested in what you are up to down there in Tornado country.

  6. I must be a good writer because I gets loads of Anonymous commenters wanting me to look at their websites. ;c)

    1. Ya...... remember I shut those folks out..... Maybe I should turn them back on again just for the numbers....... Nah..

Anonymous comments had to be eliminated.... For the most part this has removed unwanted responses.. If you can't post your comments, please email me and we will make other arrangements...
