Ceiling repairs..

What a mess!

It will take years to clean up all the dry wall compound mess....

They will be back tomorrow afternoon to begin painting the new knock down ceiling again....  I say again, because this was done and painted last Friday, but the big boss man came and looked it over saying that you could still see the place where it was patched...  And to him that was unacceptable...

I had kind of steeled myself that it would look patched when they got done, but not the big boss...  He said it is either right or it isn't... And if you can tell we worked on it, then it isn't right....

Well OK then....

Changing subjects...... I have used Linux for years and because Live Writer only works on Microsoft operating systems, haven't been able to run anything but blogger's software...  So this past weekend, I went out an bought a Windows machine thinking I would add 10 to it when that becomes available..  And I downloaded Microsoft Essentials Live writer as part of my setup....  Well so much for that idea...

I don't see mother Google going backwards on their file definitions and Microsoft hasn't updated the Essentials programs for the last three years..  I wonder if we are just stuck with no more writer... or who will blink first....  Need to send lots of complaints...  Send one every day, to both companies......!

  1. It sounds like they heard the people and are working on the Live Writer problem. My fingers are crossed along with my toes. I can't imagine using Blogger anymore. I'm glad they are going to make the ceiling look good but what a pain.

  2. Live Writer is the only program I really miss since slipping over to the Apple Eco-system a couple of years ago. Nice to have a contractor who see that things are done right, but you are right it will take forever to deal with all that dust. Maybe leave your Roomba running all next winter while you are in Mesa.

  3. Yes that Blogger/Live Writer ker-fuffle sure has stirred up a lot of loyal Live Writer folks around the globe for sure. Hope I'm wrong but I think Google just came back with that 'working on the problem' statement as a ploy. One thing at Google those folks are not & that is stupid. Can't tell me they didn't know what was going to happen to Live Writer if they did whatever it was they did. If it was their plan to torpedo Live Writer to have people use their Blogger format then at least get the Blogger builders to re-do that old program of theirs. Incorporate some of Live Writer's ideas, keep some of their own, & bang some heads around to shake out some new ideas & come up with a super clean & easy to use new Blogging platform. Now what's so hard about that eh..........................

    1. Al, Google did re write their blogger platform about two years ago.. It went largely un noticed.. Because everyone was so in love with live writer.... Microsoft abandoned Windows Live products.. So they are not going to update programs that are abandoned...

  4. I'm with you Rod--get it fixed--Blogger works but I sure prefer Live Writer! I like JB's idea of leaving the Roomba running all winter? :)) We have a lot of drywall work to do in the Arizona house--the cowboy is NOT looking forward to that!
