Excessive Heat to Impact the Desert Southwest for the First Half of the Work Week
An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for portions of the Desert Southwest, including the Phoenix metro area, from Monday through Wednesday. Afternoon high temperatures will range from 110 to 115 degrees, while overnight low temperatures will briefly fall below 90 degrees. The hot temperatures can lead to heat stress.
This was issued by the National Weather Service for Mesa and Apache Junction.. Somehow I am not wanting to go back and experience this for myself..... Its ok, they can do it for me.... Our house watcher folks, said welcome to the surface of the sun, when they came over and it seemed funny at the time........
We worked in the campground all morning, with me outside washing out dirty lockers and sorting thru the stuff that has accumulated over the winter, tossing a bunch of stuff, and boxes for stuff. And Loyce going thru the cupboards inside and cleaning out all the accumulated but now old things...
Any food stuff, was subjected to the inside of the locked up MH so who knows how hot that was...? But it is all gone now, except for the booze,.. I don't think heat will bother the rum, if the cap is still on.... Well maybe if it gets to boiling,.........
I then began washing the coach since they don't really care much in the COE campground.... Security went by and saw me doing it, so if it was a problem he didn't say any thing... All the haboob dust is now part of the Kansas grass in the last camp site.... It did water spot some, but if we ever get any rain that will be gone too....
The drive home was without any problems, just like we like it... And we were welcomed by our neighbors across the street... Our yard is a mess with some grass grown high and other parts browned out from lack of moisture....... We had the sprinklers set, but evidently not enough for the heat they had.
Our temperatures here are supposed to be 98 on Tuesday, but in the low 90s for the rest of the week, and that's certainly much more like it..... Once its under 40 C, its all good..... (That ought to raise a few Canadian opinions......lol)
So with the coach back over in storage, maybe I ought to go see if the motorcycle will start!

Welcome Home Rod, Glad to see your trip was safe and uneventful. It is supposed to be normal this week as far as temps go. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...
ReplyDeleteI was checking out AJ temps yesterday and couldn't believe how hot it was. I wonder if it's still going to be that hot when we get there in September. I sure hope not. I like warm but that is so beyond that. Glad you and home safe and sound. Nice to have the rig all cleaned off. I can't even imagine what Jim's boat is going to be like even though it was in a carport.
ReplyDeleteSeems it's flippin' hot everywhere! Gets to be such that it doesn't matter if it's F or C.
ReplyDelete"F'n C" doesn't stand for "f**king cold" either.
Glad to see you made it home and are not in the Arizona oven!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home.
