I came home on Saturday, its about a 4 hour drive up from Wichita... They are burning the wheat fields off that are planted in the spring.... The smoke just rolled across the turnpike in places...
Then before it got dark, we went over to the storage lot and parked the rig in its spot... That way our hottie tottie neighbors around here won't be all mad at me...
Ben and Danielle and the three bandits (Grandkids) came over and helped me unload the stuff out of the motorhome that afternoon, so it was all over in about an hour... That greatly helped, as much of the stuff had to go into the upstairs of this two story house....
Sunday was Palm sunday, so there were activities at the church... And then we had a family get together over at Chris and Melissa's home... Burgers and cheese dogs on the grill... Ranch and bacon potato salad. Ranch beans with pulled pork in them..... I ate way too much...
Monday was spent getting the Goldwing started.... I couldn't get the side cover off of the bike back in December to put the battery tender on it.... So the battery was too weak to start it... Research on the internet explained that that cover was a PITA.. But told where to pull and to tug right at it and it would come away.... So By monday it was running all charged up...
And that was good because today was a 70 degree and sunny day for the Romeo Ride down to Hume, Mo...
As you can see, it is a 70 mile ride straight down the US 69 divided highway... We rolled right along but it took us more than the 1 hour and 6 minutes google thinks it should have...
They had a massive turn out and counted 74 motorcycles... That completely took over the restaurant, and we had romeos serving coffee and delivering meals... The poor restaurant crew was overwhelmed!! There are a lot of pictures on the romeo web site and some even include me... But it is fun to see all the folks.... So go Here to check it out...
I was again riding on two wheels, re learning to ride the bicycle rather than the reverse trike.. But the Gold wing is a fun machine and has sooo much more power than the Can Am that it was fun getting re acquainted... But in one of the pictures you can see the three Gold Can Am's parked in a row in front of the restaurant... And I was thinking that it would have been fun to park the fourth black one in that line up...
So many people to talk to after the long winter, and many of them haven't been riding in quite a while... I am really spoiled riding in Arizona all winter like nothing is wrong, or winter doesn't exist.... I had 4800 miles on the Can Am speedo when I left last week.... It started at 0 back in October...
It does take more energy to ride the two wheeled bike, as you have to balance the thing while you are going slow... And almost everyone came up to me and told me to be sure and put my foot down when I stopped..... Yeah sure you betcha...!
