An update on Rod....

After testing and consulting with Rod's oncologist last week, he entered the care of hospice. His wish is to be cared for at home & we are doing the best job we can to honor him. We are focusing on our family and living. Saturday he had a visit from ham radio friends from Des Moines. Tuesday Rod took a ride in his '48 chevy. Yesterday he was able to visit with his favorite pastor. We plan to celebrate his birthday next with his favorite, a lemon meringue pie.

This will probably be our last update for a while.  We appreciate continued prayers for him and our family as we care for him.

  18. Thank you for the update on Rod. I have been wondering often how he was doing and I sure miss his blog. If he got either Des Moines paper when he lived in Urbandale, IA, my husband, Leon Johnson, surely delivered it as he had two routes (did his brother's route too) that covered most of Urbandale in the late 50s & 60s. Peace & blessings to Rod & his family.
