Enjoying the summer weather here... And the end of basketball.. for Kansas

As a current Kansas resident....... when not in Arizona..... we had more than a vested interest in the number one seeded basket ball team from Kansas University....  It made the tournament fun to have a team in the hunt.....

But tonight in spite of leading the game most of the night, Michigan went on a hot streak at the end of the game and forced an overtime... And then won the game.....  Kansas is gone.

So single elimination gives no second chances to re enter the fray.....  Indiana, Georgetown, Kansas  all gone.... And probably better than some of the teams that remain.  But its the tournament as it is currently structured.

It was in the upper 80s today and seemed like summer..   I was out working in the back yard trimming and spraying the remaining weeds...  I have worked as hard on a rock yard this year as I would on grass..  Maybe harder...

And guess what....?  The sun was out and shining in Kansas City melting all that snow from last week..  So it will only be a matter of time and the mowers and weed equipment will have to come out there.....

But not to be let down, they are calling for some more freezing temps in the first part of next week..  And snow showers..  So we wonder just how fast we should go back....

But for this afternoon, I rode the bike all the way over to downtown Gilbert on a wonderful summer afternoon....  It is to be into the 90s in Arizona next week which will make mid afternoon riding more uncomfortable...  Our seasons are changing......

But on the basketball front, my alma mater the University of Iowa is still in the NIT tournament and scheduled to go to Madison Square Garden for their final four...  I know it is kind of the looser's brackets, but hey at least we still have a team in the hunt...  Too bad none of the games are on TV..........  Or at least the stations I get....

We are packing out our stuff to the garage getting ready to depart sometime in the near future... but like always we will know when that will be when we get there.....  Loyce has packed a lot of winter quilt store bargains into stacks of bags that will need to be loaded somewhere ............

  1. Kansas ran into some extraordinarily hot shooting last night. Sometimes it just comes down to a bit of luck in these single knockout games.

I heard our grass is really growing at home so I've had some thoughts of a new John Deere running through my head for the past few days!! We'll see when I get home!
