Why doesn't my thermometer say its cold outside?

Loyce gave Biscuit a bath today and I'm fairly certain that was the only work accomplished all day...  It was cold and in the 40s when we first got out of bed and we had breakfast early on...

But then the day became computer study and TV watching...  I ventured out into the back yard with Biscuit when she was out to do her job and realized rather rapidly that it was too soft and muddy after the rain to leave the concrete...

The South side of the house was flooded yesterday during the heavy rain, so I knew not to go around that side for a couple of days, but that is where the door to the garage goes into the yard.....  So no work on the yard was possible...

Besides it was just too cold outside as we never made much over 55 degrees all day...  That does bring up a funny story, as I kept looking at my outside thermometer and it said 67...  That couldn't be, as the computer said 45 early on..  And the heat was running inside....  So I queried Loyce where the temperature probe was outside....  She said its not outside....

I brought it in yesterday during the high winds so it wouldn't blow off of the table....   Well, OK then, now we know why it said 67, because the heater is set at 67....  It was setting on the book shelf inside the sliding doors...

It is to warm up tomorrow, so perhaps we can get out and do something then...  But for now, I am just really glad we aren't out boondocking or something like that..  When its in the 30s at night I am really glad we have this house.... RVs are cold below 40 no matter how you try and heat them...

  1. Your right about RV's being cold no matter how you try to heat them when below 40. We too have been very glad to be in a house this windy & cold winter. Has not been the best boondocking season that's for sure........

  2. It sure was cold yesterday. We stayed inside after our Airport run and enjoyed the fire, reading, golf on TV and trying to knock out this crud once and for all! Enjoy the sunshine today.

  3. Too funny, Rod. Forgetting I brought it in the house would definitely be something I'd do. What I can't believe is we're going from this cold weather to 90 degrees in March. I'm not real happy about that. What happened to the 80's?

  4. Hopefully, you'll be able to move the thermometer back outside today and it might even be warmer than inside.
