Seems like all we get done around here is to fix things.... Remember that cabinet top that was retrieved from the motorhome last week.... ?
It sat here for several days, but today I went to the basement and set up the drill press to burn a couple of holes thru it... I had drawn a good template on its underside, so with a few measurements and x marks the spot I knew where to make the holes...
Started with a rather small drill bit to drill thru from the bottom, which marked the spot on the top... Then the bigger bits were used from the top down in order to not chip the wood..
Finally a much bigger bit was used to countersink the tapered screw heads...
My son Chris went with me over the the coach where we had to take down the TV above the counter.... This works much better with two guys... One to hold things while the other fellow takes off the myriad of wires...
With only a few small holes drilled in the sides of the cabinet, and the screws set into place the top was back on... The screws were brass, so not overly noticeable...
And like most jobs of this nature, we took more time putting the TV back than fixing the cabinet top... But it seemed to work when we were done...
We also went out to our local RV place in Gardener, Kansas in search of some compression washers that are used in fittings under a sink or in my case the RV toilet... We have one of those slow drips in that water line... So slow that I can't determine where it is coming from....
That will take connecting to the city water pressure to identify... But first I will replace all the washers and couplings...
The motorhome is getting older and just like your house it takes a bunch of attention....

With all the "jobs" at least you stay out of trouble that way. Lol
ReplyDeleteGee, at least you're handy and know how to fix things - I'd be absolutely clueless. I'm with Jim and Sandie - keeping busy keeps you out of trouble! ;-)
ReplyDeleteTyler Thursday is a spammer! I got the same comment, Rod.
ReplyDeleteWork never ends it seems. Lots and lots to do but it does keep our minds busy and our fingers off the keyboards for a while.
I deleted Tyler from my blog, seems he's found a new way to spam us all.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be fixing so many things it looks like Murphy has taken permanent residence at your house... ;c)
I just deleted Tyler, but you can bet he will be back on future posts... And I am a fix it up kind of guy so that means I have many repairs... I also like to blog about repairs and enjoy the attitude that "now that's taken care of!"
