Traverse City is along the North West corner of Michigan... But it would be the North East side of Lake Michigan, if that makes any sense...
We left Shipshewana about 9:30 which was kind of hard for us as we are still on Central time in our mind's clock.... So it felt like we were up kind of early... There is not much to tell about the drive other than Kalamazo, was a traffic zoo...
I was road raging at all the drivers, and Loyce was telling me to cool it.... Grumble, grumble..... They dart all around you and make you smash on the brakes.... They think you can stop like a VW bug.... Grumble.....
We got up here in the middle of the afternoon, and filled the diesel tank back full before going to the camp site... It makes it easier to leave in the morning, when you aren't searching for a place to get fuel...
We had some what of a bad time finding a place to camp up here calling several and finding that Friday and Saturday were booked... Its the height of tourist season, so we expected this... And as a last resort we called a place we had seen on one of the blogs...
They have no sewers anywhere and only had water in a few places... But they had electric... Well, they claimed they had electric... But my surge protector thinks otherwise, shutting down everytime and AC starts... They may have 50 amp plugs, but don't try and draw that much...
So we are almost boon docked... But hey we have lights and the fridge is on electric too... So at least my 2 year old batteries won't fail...
I'm not sure what's on the agenda here, but maybe just sitting on the Bay of lake Michigan and watching the birds fly around.... will do...

How I miss my Colorado home

I hope to be in Michigan for a few days in August, and I'm worried about finding a spot. Since I'll be tent camping it doesn't matter if I have utilities - can't use them anyway!
ReplyDeleteRoad rage - another reason we avoid big cities. Loyce, I have to do the same thing with Jim on a regular basis. Hope it's cooling down for you as you've gotten north. Sitting on the bay watching birds sounds like a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWell road rage is not really an issue here, we hit Salt Lake City on the way south but for the most part it is just Dogpound and as we transit main street there quite often BOTH residents are out in their yard and giving us a wave. Have fun on the lake.
ReplyDeleteAny pics? I've never seen Lake Michigan.
ReplyDeleteNot yet, but I got the camera battery charged now.....LOL
DeleteDanielle-look at my pictures on FB-I have posted tons of pictures from last year's vacation of Michigan-like 3 albums worth! Told Cici that we should have a family reunion at Mackinac Island or a family wedding! :)
