It was down in the 30s again last night, and even though we broke the dawn with sunshine, the temps didn't rise very quickly....
Loyce's sister was scheduled to fly out today so they were in catch up visiting mode, so I just slept in for a while... They didn't need me in their conversation....
It became noon, and the temps were still in the 40s but by about 2 they made the 50s.... I did the internet thing... But I have to be careful, as I am really tight against our limit of gigs... I might fall off of the earth when we reach the top....
Anyway, I decided that it was just too cool to brave the temps on the motorcycle..... As about when we reached 55, the sun disappeared and the dampness of the cool air really took over...
I did go for a Wendy's and shopped at the Home Depot late in the afternoon, but took the car... Then over to the motorhome, where I re installed the water heater anode bar plug in the heater.....
I also tested the water hydrant in the far end of the lot, but found that it was shut off sometime this winter... It did work last fall..... But that doesn't help me much......
We had the 5 bushes that I purchased inside the garage for yesterday and last nights snow storm, but today I carried them out into the back yard... They were dry and needed to be watered... So they sat in the sun for the afternoon today.... And tonight I put them on the table inside the patio roof... Still open on two sides, but at least any falling frost can't get at them....
I can't continue to carry them back and forth to the garage every night... We might be flirting with frost for a couple of more night this next week so perhaps they will be pinched as well.......
We do hope our SIL made it into her housing tonight as when we checked, her flight was on schedule to land back in the snow covered Midwest... She didn't have to travel far, but still we are concerned and wish her the best...
Too bad she had to be here for the first snow in the Phoenix area in many years.... Still she thought it was nicely warm here compared to Iowa. The bright sunny days have a way of giving that impression....

How I miss my Colorado home

I hope your SIL has no problms getting back home. The snowy weather messes up flights all over the country.
ReplyDeleteTwas a nice day down here at Dogpound South. Not sure it was bike riding weather but I did manage to get some things done around the yard with just my (Arizona) normal shirt sleeves. Looking forward to a little warmer weather though before it is time to head back to the land just north of summer.
ReplyDeletePhoenix even made the news over in New Zealand with our snow. And I am sooo ready for it to be over and done with. That 62 today looks much better but next week is what I'm looking forward to. Hope your SIL is home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteHope that will be the end of the cold weather for this year so that you can get those bushes planted and enjoying your bike rides again. Nice the sisters had a good visit together.
ReplyDeleteAny day you can still get to Wendy's for a 'burger fix' is still a good day, Rod. It's bright, sunny and warm here in Palm Springs this morning with forecasts for 80 degree weather in the coming days. I'll see if I can send some of this over to Mesa!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I see our friend Mr. O'Reilly is penning a new book for this September called 'Killing Jesus'! That should be an interesting read!!
O'Reilly is Catholic and has some strong opinions about the secular nature of our society..... Not too sure I will be purchasing that book...... Although I do agree with him that we should be more religious... Its just his delivery that staggers me........ Rod
