Excelsior Springs

My motor cycle riding partner and myself headed out to Excelsior Springs, Missouri yesterday morning....  We went to a place called the Outpost...  They had breakfast for $5..  Yep, lets have breakfast again.....

Two eggs scrambled, sausage patty, biscuits and gravy and hash browns......  Do I still have some on my face??  The guy came around with the coffee pot so many times that we were drowning......

Excelsior Springs is just a few miles North of the Kansas City suburbs on the North side of town, but of course it is about 60 miles up there...  We decided to avoid the center of KC because it is construction most of the way...  We rode the beltway interstate 435 around the West side to the airport and then East across the North side of town... I ended up with about 150 miles on the speedo..

On the way back it got really hot, as the bike was registering 102...  We stopped at the Honda dealer on Shawnee Mission Blvd so I could get oil and a filter for the bike...  We hung around inside with the new bikes as their showroom AC was really nice...

From there we went to McDonalds and my friend Al, even went for Ice Cream instead of his usual coffee...   Too hot for coffee, he declared...

From there we went our separate ways as I returned to a cell phone repair shop to pick up my phone, and then home by about 5...  Awfully hot by the time I was home....

They went again today to Lyndon, Kansas, but I didn't even think about it....

  1. There's just something about eating breakfast out - maybe it's the fact that you don't have to cook it yourself!

Looks like you had a fun day - except for the heat!

  2. Great deal on breakfast for only $5 as long as they were willing to "hold the gravy" on the biscuits so that vile stuff didn't touch any other food.
