My heavens, thank you all for being so concerned about me.... I am still snake bit here, but I think I have turned the corner on the massive pain.. Now it is more discomfort pain... Until the middle of the night, when it starts hurting for real..
I have never been bitten by a spider before that I can remember, and this thing is still swollen and hot... I have used the special antibiotic ointment, but not as much as I probably should...
Anyway this weekend was mostly watching football with my younger son on Saturday, where the Hawkeyes lost to Michigan State... Boo... And then on Sunday the Kansas City Chiefs won again which makes them 5 and 0... Much better than they have been for a lot of years....
I was invited over to my motorcycle friend Al's home to eat with he and his wife and another couple... They have turned into a real God send for helping me cope...
And on Friday night an old neighbor from Iowa came by and kept me busy for a couple of hours... So I haven't been all alone... And that is a large positive..
Biscuit has been over at Ben's house for most of the weekend with her three grand children... They cart her all over and wear her out, which is a good thing for her...
That's about it from here...

Glad you're getting out and that your kids are spending time and helping Biscuit out too.
ReplyDeleteSpider bites can be terrible. Please take care of that Rod. I was bitten (we think is was anyway) by a spider in Arizona a couple of winters ago. It paralyzed my arm for a few days and was also very painful. Keeping busy is good Rod. I bet Biscuit is just loving being with the kids.
ReplyDeleteTake Care Rod. Sending you love and strength to you and your family.
I'm so glad to hear you're keeping busy. But you have got to take care of that bite. Use that ointment more often, please. I bet the grands are having as much fun with Biscuit as she is with them. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to hear you're spending time with some good friends and, of course, your family. I've been spending time with my Uncle who's visiting us from Winnipeg after losing his wife of 61 years just 16 months ago. He too, talked a lot about the incredible pain of loss but did say as time passes, things do begin to get better.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're spending time with friends and loved ones. I brushed a huge black widow spider off my fire pit as I was cleaning yesterday. I'm glad I saw it first!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are starting to feel better and are spending time with friends and family!
ReplyDeleteHowdy Rod,
ReplyDeleteIf that IS a spider-bite and a BROWN RECLUSE bite, you're in a HEAP O' TRUBBLE, BOY !!! It'll rot away clear to the bone and leave a hole, NOT A SCAR, A HOLE !!! Joyce's uncle had one, treated it for TWO MONTHS and finally went to a WOUND CLINIC to get it 'healed' !!! BUT IT DID HEAL !!!
You probably got bit down at the 'lake-house', as they like dark places to hide...
Hope that 'bite' does 'HEAL-UP', SOON so you can have a HAPPY NIGHT of rest !!!
