Sunday Update

I'm sitting here wondering what to post, that isn't sounding forlorn or blue...  The medical front continues, as I was at the hospital on Friday again...

They repacked the incision on my back and I about jumped over the table...  The bad news is that I have to go back on Monday to get it done again...  Not sure they will release me to go to Arizona.....   But I might leave anyway and see if I can find some kind of medical facility to help me along the way...

Yesterday was fairly much a football day and a baseball day in the evening...  Ya I know, its a total waste of time...

Today so far it has been mow the yard and do laundry...  I'm not very domestic so these chores are just that.... Chores...

Its been too cold to go out on the Motorcycle, but today we are to have a brief afternoon of warmer Southern air....   Maybe 70...  Perhaps that is an opportunity...

I went over to the storage lot and brought home the utility trailer...  I thought I would load the bike into it since riding seems to be off the schedule...

I will take it with me to Arizona when I go...   I will always have the Burgman scooter back here should really nice days come about...

So no other news from here...

  1. Are you eating healthy, Rod? I know it isn't fun to cook for one but if you eat healthy, as in veg's and the like, your body will heal faster. If I am ever widowed, that will be my biggest problem. It isn't unusual for me to eat a bowl of cereal for dinner if I'm alone.

    1. We have a grocery store here Hy Vee, that has a full hot bar of food like a cafeteria... I often go over there.. Otherwise my burgers and such are not all that healthy... I have been limiting the french fries.... That's a bunch of carbs and oil that I don't need..

  3. Time for some good 'ol rag chewing my friend, get on the radio and have some fun. I'm a lowly Tech for now so 10m would be only way we could legally talk. :) Hopefully on Monday it goes better and you can make your trip on time.

    Take care,
    Erik

  4. There are great doctors out here so hopefully your doctor will let you go. You are going to have blue, lonely days and that's okay. Grief can take a real toll on your body so be good to it. You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

  6. I agree with Al. We are all here for you. You have to take care of yourself and eat properly. When you get to Arizona I am going to be watching to make sure that you are. You can get on your Bike and come on over to DPS for some good home cooking and I will watch your carbs lol.

  8. Howdy Friend,
As I can empathize with you on the 'repackin'', IT HURTS LIKE 'H..L'. WELL YOU KNOW !!! DON'T LEAVE UNTIL THE DOCS SAY SO, as MOST INSURANCE won't pay for anything like what you're hoping for !!! Just tooooo much of a chance for COMPLICATIONS, like infections, etc... Good idea to take Mr Honda to AZ, so, you can go eat JB&Brenda's food; SAVE some change.... Of course JB will probably try to feed you crushed oats !!! Hang in there, buddy...
Hope the docs let you loose so you can head South and have HAPPY DAYS !!!!!

  9. Howdy Rod,
Boy you sure got sumpin' started over at Rick's !!!! IF I was able, I'd be fishing & hunting in a heart-beat... I have all of the equipment to do so, but NO LEGS... Those Native American kids, who were 'spearing the salmon, HAD TO GO TO THE WHITE MAN'S COURT to get PERMISSION to do it...
They are spearing THEIR FISH, they were here FIRST, and had to spend a lot of THEIR MONEY to get THEIR RIGHTS BACK in order to FEED THEIR FAMILIES... Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, just like a whole lot of CURRENT DECISIONS !!!!! Hope Rick doesn't get toooo rough of a going over.... hee hee

  10. Wow, your header photo is fantastic!

Please get your back healed. Infections can turn ugly fast. Arizona will still be there when you're well. If you head through San Antonio, let us know, you can have dinner with us.
