Monday in the Desert

I really can't get used to this statement, but we had a cooler day today as it only got up to 100 degrees.....  It was a little over 100 degrees for most of the afternoon, and we were out in the yard with the builder's landscaper showing him some of the dead plants.....

They are under warranty and he indicated that someone would be out yet this week to replant them and check out the water system they installed......

Uh,  late in the week, our landscaper, a different guy, is supposed to arrive and begin to install more additions to the watering system and start on the finish of the back yard..... or garden in some cultures... Will it be our luck that they arrive at the exact same time....??

Two vendors to work on the same system...... That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, as they will not see eye to eye, and if something dies it will be the other guy's fault.......  I would bet this will be the last of any warranty plants from the original landscaper...!

And in the department of the monsoonal rains that washed all the dirt out of the unfinished yard next door, the builders arrived with a group of female workers who swept the dirt out of the street.  Slowly they swept it up into shovels and re-deposited it back into the bare dirt front yard......  We kind of marveled at that as we watched....

We really hope that some of these neighboring homes get delivered to our upcoming neighbors in the next couple of weeks so that it will cut down on the barrage of pickup trucks that show up every morning and park all up and down the street..  I'm sure our neighbors that were here before us wished the same thing about our workers.....

And perhaps Loyce isn't as excited about the brown color that we picked for the den room, as she told me today that for now I didn't need to paint any more of the swiss coffee color to brown.....  Uh, that was the original plan to repaint most of it right away.......  But that's OK as it really is a lot of work to repaint the entire house inside............  See why I only bought a gallon!

That's the news for tonight!

  1. Hey Rod, I learned a long time ago to never pick out paint colors - it's a losing proposition. I really don't care what color it is anyway so I just slap on whatever the color of the day is.

    1. Rick, I didn't pick the brown in the den, I only brought home a bunch of paint cards and let her pick the right one.....
